It is my pleasure to welcome you to St Wilfrid’s RC College. We are a thriving, welcoming school with the highest of expectations for all. We are proud to form part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Educational Trust’s family of schools. Our distinct Catholic ethos, high standards and commitment to every member of our school community make St Wilfrid’s a special place to learn and to grow, allowing each child to become the best version of themselves.
Our school motto “Excellentia per fidem, per scientiam, per adiuvatum” is lived out every day, and put simply, means that we ensure ‘excellence through faith, learning and support’.
Our faith is at the heart of everything that we do here at St Wilfrid’s and the example set by Christ is one that we aim to live by, ensuring that the Gospel values govern all our interactions. As a welcoming community, we welcome pupils of all faiths, or none, simply aiming for everyone to have the opportunity to grow in faith, understand the importance of service to others and develop a spirit of generosity.
We are a forward-thinking school and aim to ensure that all our pupils have the highest standard of education. Our focus on high quality teaching and learning ensures an environment where every child can maximise their academic achievement in a stimulating and challenging classroom environment. We offer a curriculum that is rich, varied and ambitious for every pupil, delivering a wide range of academic, technical and vocational qualifications. We actively encourage progression from Sixth Form to high quality degrees and apprenticeships.
However, Catholic Education is about much more than academic outcomes, we are responsible for nurturing every child to be the best that they can be. We provide extensive opportunities for all our pupils to grow, develop and live rich lives through activities that nurture talents; offer leadership and character development, whilst building skills and friendships, helping them to become well rounded and fulfilled adults.
We offer high levels of support, working in partnership with families to ensure that all pupils are supported. Our pastoral care is a real strength of the school, and our House system ensures that families feel connected to our school, ensuring a consistent point of contact throughout your child’s journey with us.
As Headteacher, I am proud to serve our community and look forward to ensuring excellence for all.
