Sixth Form

As a Sixth Form we are proud of the level of support we offer students as they meet the demands placed on them by A-level study. We take pride in the range of the traditional academic subjects and the more contemporary vocational qualifications we are able to offer and the different combinations you can follow.

Our aim at St. Wilfrid’s RC College is to provide a challenging and engaging environment in which students can succeed to the best of their potential.

“At St. Wilfrid’s we develop each student, enabling them to grow individually. We monitor their progress, watch them flourish into young adults and provide them with a learning environment where they can achieve their full potential”

Mrs K Forster, Assistant Headteacher/Lead for Sixth Form

“St Wilfrid’s Sixth Form is a relaxed yet studious environment, where everyone is at home and can perform to their best. The teachers are round the clock workers with emails, information, exam questions and just general care. When you see how hard they work, you strive to be worthy of their efforts. It’s an incredible place with an inspirational team who really stretch and invigorate their students. They send you out into the world as a new and confident person — and, cliche as it sounds, it’s shaped me for life.”

James Inkster, Jesus College Cambridge (Sixth Form leaver 2017)

We have high standards of dress code at St Wilfrid’s Sixth Form. It is important that you, as a St Wilfrid’s Sixth Form student take pride in yourself and in our school. All students are treated equally and fairly; if you breach any part of our uniform policy, then you will be sent home to change. We will do this to ensure that all our pupils take pride in their appearance. We wish our students to demonstrate their commitment to their education at St Wilfrid’s by conforming and wearing the dress as prescribed in the policy.
