After School Clubs

Homework Club

Homework Clubs for Key Stage 3 and 4 are available after school in the ICT suites. This can be used as an opportunity for students to work on homework tasks or activities and for the use of coursework catch up where students can work on different department subjects. Students will have full use of the ICT facilties.

Music

The Music Department has a thriving range of extracurricular opportunities on offer to our students. Eight specialist instrumental teachers provide small group and individual music lessons throughout the week on brass, woodwind, strings, piano, singing, drums and guitar. These students take Associated Board and Rock School examinations when they have reached the required standard. The department has several extracurricular ensembles which rehearse at lunch times and after school. We currently have Senior & Junior Orchestras, Senior & Junior Choirs, Steel Pan Group, Senior & Junior Worship Bands and a Key Stage 3 Keyboard Club. These ensembles lead worship in assemblies, masses, and services, and perform at internal concerts as well as external events in the local community. In addition, Key Stage 4 and 5 Music students are always welcome to use the practice rooms after school. All students are invited and encouraged to take part in the extracurricular life of the Music Department.

Expressive Arts

There is a P.A.R.T.S Theatre Company (Performing Arts Really Taken Seriously) which is an extra curricular venture through the Expressive Arts department where students and staff can join together in creating performance work/ productions. All students across Key Stage 3,4,5 are encouraged to join the extra curricular dance and drama clubs. Dance Club produces routines for school productions and local dance festivals whilst Drama Club explores stimuli based performances, the School Play/ Musical and smaller performance evenings such as the Christmas/ Summer Spectacular shows with the annual Pantomime and short sketches. There is also a Set/ Costume team who build, paint and design the backdrops and stage environments for the performances we showcase. Student leaders support these extra curricular performances by leading peers in choreography, directing and designing.
